Race Report for:-  Stevenage Schoolboy Scramble Club,

Meeting Date:-  29-08-2010,

Venue:-  Mepal Moto-Park

Meeting Type:-   Club Championship Round Ten.

Stevenage Schoolboys returned to deep soft sand of Mepal Moto-Park for the Blink M.X. Graphics sponsored round ten of their Club Championship, where the wet week leading up to the event left the race track in perfect condition for the day’s racing.

The combined Auto groups were first out so as to benefit from the best this perfectly graded circuit could offer, Frankie Cutmore revelled in the tricky soft sand scoring the day’s first maximum score as he stormed to the overall 50cc class win. Leon Ongly with a very creditable two race seconds took second overall with Harry Smith securing the final podium position in third. Patrick Bebee with a perfect three race win maximum took home the top 65cc class honours.

Closest group of the day went to the Juniors, after three hard fought races only two points separated the top three riders. Sam Ongly managed to just hang on to the overall win after winning races one and two and slipping down to fifth in race three. George Grigg-Pettitt and Taylor Hampshire finished the day all square just two points behind with George second and Taylor third.

Lewis Houghton proved a little too tough for the Inter 85 field as he took top spot with an unbeaten three race win maximum score. Declan Whitle never too far behind secured second with Blu Compton taking the final top placing in third.

Sam Wrag with three gate to flag wins topped the Inter 100 class, with Tom Pallett after an equally impressive day’s riding securing all the seconds both race placings and overall. Jordan Moxey with three top four placings took third overall.

Aaron Wakefield cruised to the Expert Plus top position with three race wins along with maximum points, Craig Heslop and Robert Hince finished the day level on points with Craig taking second and Robert third.

Keith Gillett continues to dominate the Expert Senior Class with another three race win maximum score to add to his tally. Simon Steadman and Lee Chipperfield ended the day in second and third respectively just two points apart.

Ryan Houghton looked odds on for a three race win Open Adult maximum score until a tangle with a lapped rider left him way down the order, a strong fight back through the field though was enough to take him all the way to the overall win. Harry Noakes after finishing second in the first two races also needed to fight his way through the field after stalling on the start gate, still held on to second overall, with Wayne Goodlad despite a middle race slip down the order in third.

With three different race winners the Inter 125 group was up for grabs all the way to the final chequered flag. George Redhead, who added two seconds to his race win took the top spot and leave Luke Parker and Rob Nicholl just two points apart in second and third.
